Become a Recovery Coach & Help a Vineyarder in Need

Someone on the island needs your help. In March, you can learn how to deliver that help where it can do the most good.

Registration is open now for CCAR Recovery Coach Training, to be held March 13-23 in the Hazel Teagan Room at the Vineyard House.

A Recovery Coach provides guidance and support for individuals in substance abuse recovery. Following the model created by the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), coaches will learn how to help people explore their relationship with substances, and identify and create the building blocks of a life without the need for drugs and alcohol, all by focusing on people’s strengths, abilities, and resiliencies.

This month’s CCAR Recovery Coach Academy will comprise two sessions: Recovery Coach Academy (March 13-16), and Ethical Considerations for Peer Recovery Support (March 22 & 23). Trainees must attend all sessions in order to receive their training completion certificate.

This free training is made possible by funding from the six island towns and facilitated by Dukes County in collaboration with Island Health Care. See below for more details:

CCAR Recovery Coach Training

Recovery Coach Academy: March 13-16, 8:30am-5:15pm

Ethical Considerations for Peer Recovery Support: March 22 & 23, 8:30am-6pm

Location: The Hazel Teagan Room at the Vineyard House, 56 Short Hill Rd, Vineyard Haven

All sessions are free to participants. Trainees must attend all 6 sessions in order to receive a training completion certificate.

If you are not currently a patient of IHC, you may submit a new patient packet and we will contact you to schedule a new patient appointment. If you require walk-in/same day care, please go to the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Emergency Room.
