Island Health Care is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our team in providing the people of Martha’s Vineyard with equitable, high-quality, and affordable health care. We are looking for a candidate with a strong commitment to serving underserved populations and promoting health equity, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to actively participate in a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care team. This position is responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards, practices, policies, and procedures. Island Health Care is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.
The LPN is an essential member of our Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team, providing nursing support and assisting in the examination and treatment of patients in the clinic to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of the Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, and health center’s policies and procedures. The LPN responsibilities include patient/client/community outreach, advocacy and support; bridging cultural gaps (and fostering greater capacity) between and among staff, patients and the larger community; providing culturally appropriate nursing care, health education, and information; documenting patient care and key performance measures in the electronic health record (EHR).

Island Health Care is seeking an Registered Nurse / Patient Care Manager to join our team.
This position is responsible for providing direct and indirect professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists nurse practitioners (NPs) and other care team members in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients and NPs, using top of license skills. Island Health Care is seeking Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team.
The Behavioral Health Clinician will provide high-quality behavioral health services to patients. They will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual and group therapy services to patients. The BH Clinician will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals including the Behavioral Health Care Manager to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients. The BH clinician will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent interactions with patients and healthcare professionals and will provide both tele-health and in-person services.

Current Inter-Island Public Health Excellence Coalition Job Openings
Public Health Inspector

The Inter-Island Public Health Excellence Coalition is currently seeking a Public Health Inspector to perform Inspection and investigatory work pertaining to the enforcement of applicable health and safety codes, protection of the environment and control of disease and other related work, as required.
Incumbent Under the direction and supervision of the town health agents, the position will enforce federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to public health and safety; investigate food borne illness outbreaks; inspect, license and regulate food service establishments, day care centers, nursing homes, food distribution programs, retail food stores and special events; educate food handlers on prevention of food-borne illness; investigate and respond to complaints relating to unsanitary, dangerous and/or unsafe living conditions and environments, rodent and insect control, drinking water and septic systems; respond to general complaints, including
nuisances, odors, rabies control, air quality, solid waste, hazardous waste, etc.
This inspector may also assist the town’s health agent in restaurant plan reviews, inspection of swimming pools, children’s camps, body art establishments, tanning salons, and tobacco control. In addition, the inspector may participate in interdepartmental housing and short term rental inspections with the Building, Fire and Police Departments for all six Martha’s Vineyard Towns and Nantucket. At the direction of the supervisory staff, the inspector may also be called upon to participate in court complaints and cases of non-compliance using administrative and/or judicial procedures.
Public Health Biologist (Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket)

The work of the Public Health Biologist focuses on prevention,
investigation, surveillance, and public education for vector-borne diseases and environmental exposures.
Examples include, but are not limited to: tick-borne diseases, such as Lyme disease; mosquito-borne encephalitis; other emerging zoonotic diseases; and exposure to harmful algal blooms.
An incumbent in the Public Health Biologist position will apply scientific methods, principles, and experience in basic medical entomology, zoology, parasitology, toxicology, coordinate emergency vector control, as required.
The PH Biologist will serve as a key resource for local health agencies on developing and advancing research efforts on environmental health, human health and animal risks, associated with viruses and environmental exposures as well as contributing to municipal and community-based climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts as appropriate,
