Island Health Care (IHC) provides equitable, high-quality, and affordable health services and support to the Martha’s Vineyard community—and has done so for more than 20 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), IHC ensures comprehensive, patient-centered care for all Islanders, regardless of ability to pay.
Demand for IHC’s services has grown exponentially in recent years. While we’ve been able to hire staff to provide services, our facilities are too small and outdated to serve our clients effectively.
That work is already underway—IHC has spent much of the last two years building the foundation of its fundraising operation, including annual summer events, email fundraising appeals, and proactive donor cultivation by new board members and volunteers—but it is critical to expand beyond our existing network to connect with more donors who have an interest in bringing comprehensive, innovative care and support to the Vineyard community.
Donations are currently supporting an ambitious capital campaign, which includes the construction and opening of the brand-new Dental Center as well as a planned 7,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art primary health care facility. IHC is currently over 60% toward its $6M goal to complete these important projects.
Donations are also critical to support IHC’s programmatic operations, including expanding its behavioral health and substance abuse disorder services, innovative wellness and nutrition programs, and a growing children’s health care practice.
